November details:

This month is all about Poko, and his life in the forest, among the trees and mushrooms. Our letter is titled "On forests squishy and crunchy" and goes through my inspirations on this piece!

This will be our very first art print mail, and will feature a riso print.
What is a riso print, you ask? It's printed on a machine that's kind of like a combination of a fax machine and screen printer; it creates a screen of the design that ink passes through, 1 color at a time.

The ink is super vibrant and comes in hues that standard laser printing and even the screen your viewing this on can't replicate accurately. In the case of this print, it's made of just 3 ink colors, but the combination of those layers makes all these colors.

Because this print has 3 colors, that means it's passing through the riso printer 3 times! Sometimes, the pages aren't perfectly aligned which leads to the print being slightly off; these natural imperfections are a part of riso printing and are what gives each print it's own uniqueness! I hope you'll enjoy the very human and handmade feeling of it.
